'Queer Eye' season 8 is Bobby Berk's last

The Fab Five jazz up the lives of several New Orleans heroes in the new trailer for the upcoming Queer Eye season 8, which also marks design expert Bobby Berk's last.

A former nun, a Kiss superfan, and a teacher to deaf students are among those who receive the emotional makeover of their lives when the Netflix series returns Jan. 24.

Culture expert Karamo Brown once again illuminates new outlooks on life, while fashion expert Tan France helps the heroes dress for success. Grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness preaches the gospel of self-care, and food expert Antoni Porowski cooks up recipes for wellness.

Berk announced his departure from the series ahead of its season 9 renewal last year, sharing that it has "not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one."

"Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon," he said, thanking past heroes and fans. "I learned from you all about kindness, love, and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better."

Netflix said in a statement, "We appreciate the heart and dedication Bobby Berk brought to Queer Eye over eight amazing seasons. He will always be a member of the Fab Five family and we wish him the very best."

Season 9 is set to be filmed in Las Vegas. Netflix has yet to announce Berk's replacement. A reboot of the popular 2003 Bravo reality series, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy debuted in 2018 and has received a whopping 35 Emmy nominations and 10 wins.
