Jennifer Lawrence warned her family about what they might see in her new movie, mother!, but her dad still wasn’t prepared for some of the scenes. As the Oscar winner told Seth Meyers on Late Night Thursday, the “scariest part” of the film for Gary Lawrence was seeing the outline of his daughter’s nipple.

“I wasn’t really wearing a bra a lot because I’m like Mother Earth,” Lawrence explained, “and my dad was sitting next to me and every time — I had just forgotten about that.” During those scenes when the audience got to see a little bit more of Lawrence than normal, her father would gasp.

“So the scariest element of this to your father…?” Meyers began.

“…Was the outline of my nipple,” Lawrence laughed. Thankfully, the presence of Liev Schreiber at the screening turned the beat around.

“My dad’s been talking all day about how Ray Donovan was at the premiere,” she said. She and Meyers concluded that “all dads picture themselves as Ray Donovan.”

“It was like the Liam Neeson Taken, the speech,” Lawrence joked. “You know they all did that in the shower — every day.”
